Alimak Group Selects Avassa Edge Platform for Scalable Edge Application Management in Construction and Industrial Environments

Stockholm, Sweden. May 4th, 2026. Avassa, a leading provider of an application management and operations platform purpose-built for the distributed edge, today announced that Alimak Group, a global leader of sustainable vertical access and working at height solutions for the industrial, construction, wind and infrastructure sectors, has selected the Avassa Edge Platform to support its next-generation edge computing initiatives.

Alimak Group is advancing its digital capabilities by introducing a new edge computing layer across its equipment portfolio. This initiative focuses on enabling intelligent, connected systems that combine IoT, real-time data processing, and AI-driven applications directly on-site. With the Avassa Edge Platform, Alimak Group can securely deploy, manage, and monitor containerized applications locally on their products and facilities, to create a new generation of digital solutions.

The Avassa Edge Platform enables organizations to remotely operate and lifecycle-manage applications across distributed edge locations, bringing automation, security, and observability to on-site environments where connectivity and resource constraints are a part of everyday operations.

As part of this collaboration, Alimak Group is developing a modular edge architecture to support edge applications use cases, such as control systems, advanced analytics and AI solutions. These solutions are designed to enhance operational efficiency, improve safety, and unlock new data-driven services for customers in different environments where Alimak Group products operates on, putting Alimak Group ahead of competition.

“Industrial companies are rapidly moving towards software-defined capabilities at the edge, and Alimak Group is truly manifesting that shift,” said Olle Hillström, CEO of Avassa. “With the Avassa Edge Platform, Alimak Group can accelerate its development of intelligent, connected solutions while maintaining the control, security, and scalability required in complex, distributed environments.”

Digital services and applications are what’s driving the digitalization of the industrial vertical today. The ability to remotely update, manage, and orchestrate those applications across locations is critical to enabling rapid innovation and reducing operational overhead.

“We are building a new generation of edge-enabled solutions that complement our existing systems and allow us to introduce advanced capabilities such as advanced data analytics, AI solutions and wireless communication,” said Germán Sacramento, Head of Machine Learning at Alimak Group. “Avassa has provided us with a platform that makes it possible to manage and evolve these applications efficiently across distributed environments, supporting both our development work and future scaling ambitions.”
